Sabea Al Sahraa
(KORONEC x NOUF AL THALITHA)2002 Bay Stallion
2016 Silver Champion Stallion - West Coast Cup
2016 Gold Champion Stallion - Marina Di Pietrasanta International Show
The newest stallion to be acquired by Athbah Stud is Sabea Al Sahraa, who was bred by The Stables of The Late King Abdullah & Sons in Saudi Arabia, and foaled in 2002. It is an honor to include him amongst the Athbah collection. A glistening bay with equal parts of elegance and macho maleness, Sabea Al Sahraa offers new bloodlines to the Athbah herd, including Thee Desperado, the sire of his dam Nouf Al Thalitha. Thee Desperado is without question, one of the most beautiful, productive, and highly regarded straight Egyptian stallions ever, and always adds an extra measure of Arabian type. As the daughters of Eks Alihandro reach breeding age, many of them will be crossed with Sabea Al Sahraa. He stands at Giacomo Capacci Arabians with his stablemate Alihandro in Cortona, Italy.
Both a champion show horse on his own merit and a champion producing sire, one of the first of Sabea Al Sahraa’s offspring to earn show ring honors was his 2007 son Numas Al Thani, who is out of Shamilah Anapurna, a rare daughter of Sinus. Numas Al Thani was named the 2008 Al Mohamadiah Arabian Horse Show Champion Colt. Also earning credibility for her sire was Bint Azbah, who is out of Azbah Al-Thaniah and is one of Sabea Al Sahraa’s finest daughters. A treasured broodmare at Athbah, she was lightly shown with great success, being named the World Arabian Horse Organization (WAHO) Trophy winner as a two-year-old in 2011, and the Saudi National Silver Champion Filly the same year.
